Who We Are
The Sooke Economic Development Commission serves the District of Sooke, British Columbia.
The current Economic Development Commission was established in fall of 2006 with a mandate to promote and facilitate Sooke’s economic growth through the development of long term strategies. As part of its Business Plan, Sooke Economic Development Commission has taken out membership in both the Vancouver Island Economic Developers Association and the Economic Development Association of British Columbia.
The Sooke EDC embraces the Official Community Plan, and encourages business development which compliments the desired standard of living.
About this Website
This website, Advantage Sooke, is intended as a resource for anyone wishing to find a “one stop” guide to the general economic and lifestyle trends in Sooke. We have provided links to several other websites about Sooke, to give a more detailed picture to users who want to dig a little deeper.
Let us know what you think of the site via the Contact Us page. We plan to update the site on a regular basis to keep it interesting and informative for first-time and returning users, and will be gathering suggestions for future updates.
The SEDC acknowledges, with gratitude, financial support for this project from the District of Sooke. As well, we thank the many organizations and citizens of the District who took an interest, and an active part, in bringing this project to fruition. We especially thank past EDC members, and especially the current EDC members for the new, revitalized Advantage Sooke website.
Thanks to all who helped in large and small ways.
